1. About us

Kat-Katha is an Indian non-profit organisation, Registered under the Societies Act, 1860, with its registered office at Shah Ganj, Ajmeri Gate, New Delhi 110006, India. We are registered under sections 12A and 80G of the Income Tax Act — donations from Indian taxpayers are eligible for tax deduction at the rate prevailing under section 80G.

2. Donations

• All amounts shown on this site are in Indian Rupees (INR). Payment is processed by Razorpay — your card or bank details go directly to them and never touch our servers.
• The minimum donation through this site is ₹100. Larger gifts, CSR partnerships, and international (FCRA) donations are handled offline — write to communications@kat-katha.org.
• Once a payment is successful, you'll receive an email acknowledgement immediately. Your 80G certificate, where applicable, follows within five working days.
• Monthly and yearly options on the donate form currently capture your intent to give recurringly — the gift you make right now is a single contribution. Our team will follow up by email to set up the recurring schedule with you separately.

3. Refunds and corrections

Donations are, in principle, non-refundable — once funds reach us, they enter the programs they were intended for. That said:

• Duplicate payments caused by a technical error (e.g. you were charged twice for one click) will be refunded in full. Email us with the payment reference within 30 days.
• Amounts entered incorrectly — we'll act in good faith on a case-by-case basis. Email us within 7 days and explain what happened.
• Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 7–10 working days, subject to Razorpay's standard refund timelines.

4. Acceptable use

When using this site, please don't:

• Attempt to access systems or data you're not authorised to.
• Submit fraudulent payment information or impersonate someone.
• Scrape the site for republication without written permission.
• Use any part of the site to harass, threaten, or harm anyone.

We reserve the right to refuse or refund donations and to block access if we reasonably believe these terms have been breached.

5. Content and intellectual property

All copy, design, photographs, and the Kat-Katha name and logo on this site are the property of Kat-Katha or its licensors. The warrior stories and team photographs appear with the informed consent of the people they depict; they are not for republication.

You may reproduce small excerpts (under fair use) for the purposes of journalism, education, or social-impact research, as long as you credit Kat-Katha and link back to this site. For anything more substantial, write to us.

6. Disclaimers

• The figures and impact numbers shown on this site (women walked with, years of presence, etc.) are the team's best-faith counts as of the date last updated. They may not precisely match every audit document at every moment.
• The site is provided “as is” — we make no guarantee of uninterrupted availability, although we work to keep it reliable.
• Any external links (to news articles, podcast episodes, or partner sites) are provided for context only; we don't control their content and aren't responsible for it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, Kat-Katha, its trustees, employees, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of this site — including any loss caused by a third-party service we rely on (payment processor, email provider, hosting provider) experiencing downtime or a security incident.

8. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will first be addressed in good faith through written correspondence with our office; if not resolved within 30 days, it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New Delhi.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms occasionally — for example, when Razorpay's compliance requirements change, or when we add a new feature like real recurring subscriptions. The “last updated” date at the top of the page will change with any such revision.
